Thomas Machine & Fabrication is a full-service CNC machine and fabrication shop in Alexander City, Alabama — built on the idea that one good crew should be able to take a job from raw steel to finished product.
Our story
From one-off repairs to full production
Thomas Machine & Fabrication was founded in 2022 by two brothers, Brad and Tim Thomas, who wanted to make a difference and do it all under one roof. It grew out of a simple frustration: getting a part cut at one shop, bent at another, welded at a third, and coated somewhere else — with the schedule and the tolerances suffering at every hand-off.
So they built the shop they wanted to hire — and made it happen. Engineering and reverse engineering, CNC laser cutting, tube cutting, bending, a full machine shop, certified TIG, MIG, and Stick welding, and in-house powder coating and Cerakote, all at 1776 Radio Road in Alexander City. Whether it's a custom driveway gate, a laser-cut sign, a worn-out machine part nobody makes anymore, or a repeat production run — it comes in as an idea and leaves as a finished product.

Brad Thomas
Co-Founder & Owner
Brad runs the shop the way the work deserves — hands-on, on the floor, and straight with every customer. When you call, you're talking to the people actually building your job, not a sales desk three states away.
Alongside a crew of machinists, certified welders, and operators, Brad has grown the shop from its first jobs into a full-service operation trusted by manufacturers, farms, builders, and homeowners across east-central Alabama.
Tim Thomas
Co-Founder & Owner
Tim is the other half of the team that built this shop. Together with Brad, he set out to prove that one crew, under one roof, could take a job from a sketch or a broken part all the way to a finished, coated product — and made it happen.
From the machine shop to the weld bays, Tim keeps the floor moving so that every one-off repair and every production run leaves the building the way it was quoted.
